What Not To Wear

I have been thinking a lot about clothes lately. Yes, clothes (... and pretty much anything else besides taxes at this point). I've mainly been thinking about how how much importance is placed on clothes. Don't get me wrong, I really love shopping. Also, I really appreciate those gifted individuals that have a sort of sixth sense as to what looks good on you and what doesn't. I wish I was one of those people. Alas, I think that I am forever stuck on "Frumpville" as my uber stylish sisters call it. Yes, it's true that I can't seem to let go of my over sized sweaters and sweatpants. But it's not like I wear it to the store, although now that I think about it I may have worn them once or twice. When it comes down to it, it's a lot easier to find frumpy clothes, because you don't have to worry about frumpy clothes fitting you properly. We can't all have Stacy London with us on every shopping trip picking out clothes for us and being brutally honest if something doesn't look good. And we all don't have endless amounts of money to spend. So what do we do? I say, at the end of the day, pick out something you love. Wear those hammer pants and suspenders with pride! Others can think what they want, but the only thing that matters is how we see ourselves.

I went to the store the other day in pajama pants and a sweatshirt with no make-up on. And that's when it hit me. I've become THAT girl. But then I remembered a little something from my past.

Do you remember how I came to class every day our last year of school in the same oversized sweatshirt? Yeah... Turns out I've always been the Frumpville girl.

I completely agree with you one hundred and ten percent! These days I'm all about the stretchy pants. And honestly, I just don't care all that much. Hopefully one day I will find my love for style again. But until that day arrives I suppose I shall just embrace the comfy, spacious clothing. ;)

I don't think you EVER look frumpy! I have always thought you have a very sophisticated, well-put-together style! Go YOU!

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE that show!!! And that's totally me. I wish I was classy and had tons of style but alas, no moo-lah, no style...frumpster wife. Oh well. One trick I did learn though was to look at the store mannequins and see how they were dressed. Usually you can't go wrong there...stylish and trendy. :)
