Our little family had a wonderful Christmas this year! To think, it almost didn't happen. My husband was determined to go on a cruise for the holiday season. Don't get me wrong, a cruise would have been unbelievably fun, but I was really looking forward to spending our break with family and friends. It took me a long time to convince Mike that a Christmas in Idaho and Utah would be unforgettable, but he eventually succumbed. At the end of the day, we are both glad that we were able to spend the holiday season with the people who matter most. If you are wondering what happened to the cruise, I promised Mike that we would go on a cruise next summer. I think it would be more fun to go when it's warm anyway.
As for the new year, I wanted to try something a little different. Believe it or not, I've never actually made a new year's resolution. I always thought that it was a little crazy that people come up with impossible goals for the new year and then sit by and do nothing about them. Also, a part of me knows that I would fall into that same category. Nevertheless, this year I will find out for myself if I am able to carry out my new year's resolutions. I started composing a list last night. I figured that I would start by writing down everything that I could think of that I would like to improve about myself. When I was finished, my list was thirty items long. Evidently I have a lot of work to do. I decided that thirty items was a little overkill, so I narrowed my list down to the following three items:
- Try to workout at least two times a week (my body is not what it used to be)
- Have a date night with my husband every week
- Finish my CPA exam
Hopefully, these goals will keep my busy in 2009. At least now that they are out there in the open, you can hold me accountable for keeping them!
